Security is a priority! And if you thought your website doesn’t need to be secured with HTTPS and SSL, you’re highly mistaken.
Security impacts the overall performance of a site. Website owners think that their website is immune to malicious attacks or hackers just because there are bigger and more important companies out there. Why would any hacker waste their time with a small website? But it’s a fact that 43% of cyber attacks target small businesses. So having an “it won’t happen to me” approach just doesn’t work.
Not just that, 85% of the customers won’t convert to clients if the data is being transmitted through a connection that’s unsecured. And 82% of internet users won’t even browse on a website that isn’t secured.
HTTP It stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. These are the set of rules used to transfer information on a web page from a server to a web browser. Every time an internet user navigates to a URL, their browser ends up opening a line of communication with the site’s server. And the browser downloads a bunch of information required to render that specific web page.
With HTTP, this communication happens with text. That means any third-party can access the communication between the server and the browser. In this cafe, any personal and sensitive information can be easily stolen.
In order to make the communication private, websites use HTTPS i.e Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. The same conversation takes place between a server and a web browser, it’s just that the information is more encrypted. This prevents third-parties from stealing data.
It’s a security technology that is commonly used to secure server to a browser’s transactions. This generally involves securing any kind of information passed by a browser (customer’s credit card number or password) to a webserver (online store or online banking app).
As of July 2019, only 53% of all websites are using HTTPS. Which is a very high number.
We at Caiden Media believe that security is a priority and can help you set up your website with user and customer friendly HTTPS and SSL so that we know for sure that your visitor turns into a client because of how awesomely secured your website is!
